We've spent over 30 years inside GTA kitchens — diagnosing fridges that won't cool, washers that won't drain, dryers that won't heat. Along the way we built a habit of telling homeowners the truth about whether a repair is worth it. This page is about that habit.
Information first. We answer questions whether or not you book a tech. Many chat conversations end with “it's probably fine, here's what to watch for” — that's the point.

Started in a Toronto kitchen in 1993.
Appliances City Wide began with one technician answering his own phone. Rob — a repair specialist trained in refrigeration, laundry, and cooking appliances — set out with a simple operating principle: quote a firm price before any work starts, and stand behind the repair for a year. Thirty-plus years later, that's still how we run.
The business grew the way word-of-mouth businesses grow: slowly, by reputation, and mostly in the Greater Toronto Area. Today we cover 22 GTA cities through one number and one team. Every repair tech you meet at your door is Rob himself or a technician Rob trained directly. We don't subcontract. We don't resell your contact details to third-party referral networks. The person who answers the phone is the person who takes responsibility for your repair.

We repair refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, washers, dryers, stoves, ovens, and cooktops — across every major brand (Whirlpool, LG, Samsung, GE, Bosch, Frigidaire, Maytag, KitchenAid, Kenmore, Electrolux, Miele, Sub-Zero, Wolf, Viking, Thermador, Dacor, Fisher & Paykel). We do not service gas appliances. For a gas stove, gas oven, gas dryer, or gas cooktop you need a licensed gas technician — we're happy to recommend one when you call.
How a service call goes.
You call 416-436-3182 or . We ask a few questions — the appliance, the symptom, your postal code — and book an arrival window, usually same-day or next-day. The tech diagnoses on-site, quotes a firm price for parts plus labour, and waits for your approval before doing any work. Most repairs are done in a single visit. You receive an itemised receipt by email and a 1-year warranty on the work.

What areas do you serve?
All 22 GTA cities: Toronto and the former Metro boroughs (North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, East York, York), plus Mississauga, Markham, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, and the surrounding suburbs. If you don't see your city, call and ask — we'll tell you honestly whether we cover it.
Do you service gas appliances?
No — we service electric appliances only. For gas stoves, ovens, dryers, or cooktops, call a licensed gas technician; we're happy to recommend one.
Is there a warranty on the repair?
Yes — 1 year on parts and labour, included at no extra charge. If the same issue comes back within 12 months, we come back and fix it at no cost. See the warranty page for full terms.
Do you charge a call-out or diagnostic fee?
No call-out fee on booked repairs. Rob diagnoses on-site and quotes a firm price — you approve before any work starts. If you decline the quote, you owe nothing.
